First Sandy and now this...not great timing. The guys haven't even had time to rebuild the dune and here comes another storm. At least the ocean is just running down Cottage Ave, rather than pooling around our house!

Oh my. I just cant believe the dune is gone from in front of Christy's house.
Great blog and pictures! Hopefully the rulers and the environmentalists let the community protect itself and rebuild the dunes and rebuild the beach through re-nourishment. The entire community is dependent to some degree or another on vacationers and year round residents who live near the beach. The enviro's want humans to suffer, it is that simple. They are happy to see destruction, suffering and loss. They fit into two groups. Either they have so much money that they think they are superior to the citizens of this community or they think people are crazy for wanting to live near the water. How can people who claim to care about the environment want humans to suffer? How can you allow communities to fall into the sea in the name of the environment? A hurricane could just as easily cause a flood on one of their houses in the mountains or wherever they think is a superior place to live. Barrier islands surround the eastern seaboard and Gulf of Mexico. In California a tsunami could wipe out stretches of coast. Everywhere can be dangerous to live. We have a right to protect our community and do what it takes to have a safe place to live. This community cares about the environment, citizens help keep the water the beach and the streets clean. Putting more sand on the beach will not hurt the environment. I know it is a temporary fix, but everything is temporary.
