Putting aside a couple OMG discoveries regarding things like rotted floors, joists, etc the work has gone well...cast iron tubs are out and the new ones with surrounds are in. Its always neat to see what's 'behind the scenes' (in this case, walls) so the newest gallery will show the work done b4 the tubs and surrounds went in, as well as after. We also found a perfect dresser-to-be-vanity at a local "Second hand furniture" place, with a matching mirror. We'll convert it to a vanity with a new formica top and a sink in the middle. Its 62" long, 19" deep. The alcove in the downstairs bathroom is 69" long, 19" deep so it should be just fine.
One of the images is of a job list, and by just looking at it doesn't seem like much of a big deal...but its really only the crystallization of alot of discussion about 1) what is it we are trying to do (interior design), 2) how do we achieve it (buying it/building it), and 3) who installs it (usually us). Once we have those details somewhat ironed out, the next move is online and local shopping, which tends to either solve the problem, or create more due to high costs or unavailability (which sends us back to #2). So while the contractor is gutting and restoring the bathrooms, moving the W/D into dedicated closets and opening up the upstairs, we are making preparations to mount our own offensive, no later than February.
