the summer of 2008 found us selling the lakehouse and 'hot on the trail' for a beach house. we relied on our real estate agent greg cremia to a) methodically sift through the available properties and b) put up with numerous visits by us as we joined the hunt. by october, we had closed on a 1960's vintage beach duplex nestled in a quiet neighborhood just steps away from the beach. we have ocean and lighthouse views from the upstairs unit with tiny roads around us, perfect for beginning bike riders that lead you to corner markets for ice cream and soda. We call the duplex "Stones Throw", as the Stones family built and retained ownership of the duplex for many years (and the place is truly a 'stones throw' from the beach). and so, the newest adventure begins! there's been alot of help from family and friends already, and isn't it just the coolest? we are back...all of us, to a very cool place. the slideshow above shows outside images of the duplex. future posts will display results of our work on the downstairs, and current status of the upstairs unit. what's the goal? let's get the place ready so that we can hang out at the beach ..in 2009!
