Thistle Dew

our vacation investments began in 1993 with a little beach bunker we called "thistle dew" (as in 'this will do') in 1993. we had saved $10,000 from the sale of an old house we had fixed up, and took the plunge. it was less than a block from the ocean in kill devil hills, nc and had ocean views from the outside deck in the back. our boys share alot of good memories from thistle dew... from bringing their friends, their girlfriends, helping mom and dad work on the place, and even just from hangin' out. thistle dew also taught us the value of shared experiences between family and friends; when someone went down to visit, it always felt like we (at least mentally) went with them. it was a strong little house, with year 'round neighbors on both sides (who can forget mama jean?).
